About

markoHi everyone!  My name is Mark Thaler and I’m mainly a jewelry maker, but I also love to cook.  I have every since I was a kid!

I grew up in South San Francicso, CA and today I only live a hop, skip and a jump from there in Millbrae, CA with my partner of over 11 years.

Let me say that my mother was my first big inspiration on cooking and she made some amazing meals!  In fact, when I was growing up, she had dinner on the table by 6:00pm every night, which was when my father got home from work.  Things changed after I was grown up and had moved out in that mom and dad started to have “cocktail hour” after he got home and dinner wouldn’t be until 7:30/8:00.  I’m very proud to say that my other was always dressed and made up for my father every single day, which is something that you don’t find as much of today.

Anyway, I decided that it was about time to share recipes accumulated over time, some family recipes and some recipes I’ve found that I’ve altered and turned out fabulous!  There’s one thing that was quite challenging for a while, but it’s something I’ve gotten used to – since my partner and I moved into our apartment in 2011, I’ve had to do all of my cooking in a very tiny kitchen.  I mean, there aren’t even any drawers and I had to be creative, such as hanging pots and pans on the all because there was nowhere else to put them and using a cabinet next to the kitchen to store silverware in.  Dry goods are even stored partly in the kitchen in one of our two cabinets and the remainder is placed in different parts of the apartment, including a cubby hole type apparatus in the bedroom!

All-in-all, we’ve made it work and it’s surprising what can be done in a tiny kitchen with extremely limited counter space and a very small stove and oven.  I hope you like visiting my recipe blog as I post favorite recipes to enjoy.  I’ll admit that for now, there won’t be a lot of pictures posted, as I haven’t taken pictures of meals I’ve made, but I plan on doing that from here on out (if I can remember before serving it!  Still, trust me on this, they’re great recipes.

You’re more than welcome to submit one of your favorite recipes and I’ll post it with full credit to you!  Just use my Contact form here to submit a recipe and voila!  Have a great day!
